…is a community of imperfect people who meet on Sundays to celebrate who God is, what He has done in His Son Jesus and the promises He has made for his people.
Rector: The Rev’d Gus Robinson
Gus has been the Rector of Arawang since November 2019. He is married to Christy and together they have four beautiful and lively kids. Gus studied teaching in Armidale, NSW – actually with the aim of being country teacher and farmer. He soon met Christy and becoming convinced of the historicity of Jesus and the logical reasons for faith in him, became a Christian. He taught in Armidale and Scotland before heading to Sydney Missionary and Bible College in 2007. Since then, he has served as an Anglican minister in Inverell, Tenterfield and Armidale and is now excited to be in our nation’s capital. He is passionate about seeing people come to trust Jesus Christ and to grow in Him as people. He is currently studying at Covenant Theological Seminary where is is looking at vulnerability in Christian leadership, preaching and counselling. You might see him on his bike, watching or refereeing Rugby (sadly his playing days are well gone) and he’s also the biggest bloke you’ll ever see with a violin in his hand.
Deacon: The Rev’d Peter Rose OAM
Peter has been a vocational deacon since 2004. Since then, he has served the Lord Jesus for over a decade as a chaplain in Australia’s Parliament House, at the same time caring for a congregation at Duntroon. He has been with the Arawang Parish since December 2016.
As a civil engineer, Peter spent almost 30 years in the Australian Army in engineering appointments and on the General Staff. He then supported a post-graduate research centre of the University of New South Wales and later led World Vision’s ministry in the ACT and southern NSW. After completing theological studies then a Master’s degree in creative writing he was ordained to support the Anglican Bishop to the Defence Force as his chaplain.
